Akufo-Addo Calls for NPP Unity, Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead of 2028

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to strengthen unity and intensify grassroots mobilisation as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.

He made the call when the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) paid a courtesy visit to his office to formally invite him to the NPP’s 2026 National Delegates Conference.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, the party’s ability to rebuild and renew itself will depend largely on strengthening internal cohesion and re-establishing strong connections with its grassroots supporters.

The former President also expressed confidence in the NPP’s prospects for the 2028 elections, while emphasising the need to establish a solid organisational foundation ahead of the polls.

He commended the NOEC for its efforts in organising the National Delegates Conference and overseeing the process for electing new national officers.

Nana Akufo-Addo further pledged his support for the committee and confirmed that he would attend the conference.

NOEC Chairman Frederick Opare-Ansah disclosed details of the meeting in a Facebook post, expressing appreciation to the former President for receiving the delegation and providing guidance and support as preparations for the conference continue.

The committee said the engagement formed part of its broader consultations with key figures within the party ahead of the National Delegates Conference and the election of new national officers.
