At least 10 passengers have sustained injuries following a serious road crash at Mile 44 on the Accra–Kumasi Highway in the early hours of Monday, April 13.
The accident, which occurred around 4:24 a.m., involved a VIP passenger bus and a diesel-loaded trailer.
Preliminary reports indicate that the collision was triggered by an unsafe overtaking attempt by the bus driver, leading to a head-on crash with the oncoming trailer.
A total of 33 passengers were onboard the bus at the time. Out of this number, 10 people—nine men and one woman—were injured, though no deaths were recorded.
Both vehicles suffered partial damage in the incident.

Emergency responders quickly attended to the injured victims, who were later transported to a nearby health facility for medical care. The wreckage was subsequently cleared to allow traffic to resume smoothly along the busy highway.
Authorities have reiterated calls for motorists to exercise caution, particularly when overtaking, and to strictly observe road safety regulations to avoid such accidents.
