Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has urged party members to unite, put aside personal differences and focus on rebuilding the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference and Officers’ Elections at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, Chairman Odeneho said the congress presented an opportunity for members to renew their commitment to the party and strengthen its structures.

He called on members to prioritise the collective interest of the NPP over individual ambitions, stressing that the party belongs to all its members.

“Let us use this conference to put aside our personal differences, combine our strength and work together to rebuild the party. Ladies and gentlemen, the NPP party belongs to all of us. It is our party. It does not belong to any single person.”

The Ashanti Regional Chairman acknowledged the party’s current position in opposition, describing it as a difficult period that requires unity, determination and a collective effort to address the challenges facing the NPP.

He said the party must use the period to reorganise and prepare itself for the next general election.

“Our great party is not in the best position now. The party is in opposition, a very unpleasant place,” he said.

Chairman Odeneho further stressed that the NPP’s objective should be to return to government, urging members to remain focused despite the difficulties confronting the party.

“Our place is in government, not opposition. Our party faces a challenge; therefore, we need to stay united.”

He said unity should be regarded as a responsibility for all members during the party’s current period of reorganisation.

“In times like this, unity becomes a duty,” he added.
