President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has attributed Ghana’s economic recovery to renewed confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership.
Speaking at the Accra Reset hosted by President Mahama on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, September 21, Mr Dangote said the improvement in Ghana’s economic fortunes demonstrates the important role investor confidence plays in economic recovery.
According to him, President Mahama’s approach has helped reassure investors and restore confidence in the Ghanaian economy.
Mr Dangote said the President did not rely on extraordinary measures to achieve the economic turnaround but instead took what he described as the right decisions to rebuild trust.
“He didn’t do any magic. He’s not a magician, but he did the right things, and people really have a lot of trust in him. And that’s why Ghana’s economy turned around. This has actually shown that money follows trust,” he said.
The Dangote Group president further emphasised that Ghana’s experience demonstrates the connection between confidence in leadership and the movement of capital.
