I Support Asiedu Nketia For The Presidency – John Boadu Declares
The NPP National Chairman hopeful says Asiedu Nketia’s long political experience makes him a strong figure in Ghanaian politics.

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Chairman hopeful, John Boadu, has expressed support for National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s potential bid for the presidency.
According to John Boadu, Asiedu Nketia has gained extensive political experience over the years and has “gone through the mill” in Ghanaian politics.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show on Lawson TV/Radio, Mr Boadu said Asiedu Nketia’s long service and experience in party politics make him a significant figure in Ghana’s political landscape.
“I support Asiedu Nketia for the presidency,” he stated.
John Boadu also raised concerns about what he described as weaknesses in Ghana’s constitutional framework regarding political parties.
According to him, the Constitution of Ghana does not adequately provide for the role and interests of political parties, despite their central role in Ghana’s democratic system.
He argued that party members who work to bring a political party into power can sometimes feel sidelined after the party wins elections and government appointments are made.
Mr Boadu said this situation can be particularly painful when individuals appointed as ministers or other government officials begin to distance themselves from the party structures that supported their rise to power.
He noted that some party members who worked at the grassroots level are sometimes labelled as corrupt by government appointees, despite having known and supported those individuals before they assumed public office.
The NPP National Chairman hopeful stressed that political parties must focus on sustaining and developing the youth within their structures.
He said party politics requires experience, understanding and long-term service to appreciate the challenges faced by party members and grassroots activists.
John Boadu further touted his own political experience, saying he believes he has acquired extensive knowledge and resources through his years in politics.
He, however, stressed that his political experience is not driven by a desire to accumulate wealth for himself.
According to him, his focus has been on service, party development and understanding the challenges confronting political actors and grassroots members.
