Mystery Surrounds Alleged Midnight Arrest of Techiman Mother Over ‘Ghana Jollof’ TikTok Account
Family alleges 40-year-old nurse was taken from her home by persons claiming to be National Security operatives.

A 40-year-old mother of three, Salomey Baffoe, has allegedly been arrested from her home at Hansua in the Techiman Municipality of the Bono East Region over claims linking her to the anonymous TikTok account, “Ghana Jollof.”
According to her family, three individuals—two men and a woman dressed in black—arrived at the residence between 11 p.m. and midnight on Sunday, September 13, 2026, and identified themselves as National Security personnel.
Salomey’s brother, Antwi Francis, who witnessed the incident, said the individuals told him they were taking his sister to the regional command.
He said when he questioned them about the reason for the arrest, they instructed him to remain quiet before taking Salomey away.
The family says it has not heard from or seen Salomey since the alleged arrest.
Family denies ‘Ghana Jollof’ connection
The family believes Salomey may have been mistakenly linked to the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok account, which has gained attention for its strong criticism of President John Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.
Salomey’s mother also denied being the mother of the person behind the account, saying she was contacted by an individual who made the allegation and later visited her home in Jema.
She has appealed to President Mahama to help locate her daughter.
The family spokesperson, Abraham Owusu Ansah, said Salomey is a nurse at Abrafi Children’s Hospital and has three children.
He stressed that the family has no connection to the anonymous TikTok account and described the situation as a case of mistaken identity.
Police, National Security deny knowledge of arrest
The mystery deepened after checks by JoyNews with the Bono East Regional Police Command and Regional National Security operatives reportedly found that neither agency had any record of Salomey Baffoe in custody.
Senior police officers in the region reportedly told JoyNews that they had no record of her arrest, while National Security operatives also denied involvement in the operation.
The family is therefore demanding answers about Salomey’s whereabouts and who took her from her home.
They have appealed to President John Mahama, the Inspector General of Police and other authorities to intervene and help locate her.
The family maintains that Salomey has no connection to the “Ghana Jollof” account and is being wrongly accused.
