Nhyiaeso NPP Chairman Pledges Free Chippings for New Ashanti Regional Office

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nhyiaeso Constituency, Kwadwo Owusu Bempah, has pledged logistical support for the construction of the party’s proposed new regional headquarters in the Ashanti Region.

Mr. Bempah, who is also a quarry operator, promised to supply chippings and other construction resources at no cost as part of his contribution towards strengthening the party’s structures.

He made the commitment during a visit to the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, at the party’s temporary regional office at Ridge in the Nhyiaeso Constituency.

Commitment to the Party

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Bempah said he was determined to contribute to efforts aimed at returning the NPP to power and would support initiatives designed to improve the party’s organisation.

“As a businessman who wants the NPP to come back to power, I will ensure I do all I can to make it happen,” he said.

He explained that his quarry business produces chippings and pledged to provide the material once construction begins.

“I have one department at my quarry site which deals with chippings and so when you cut the sod at any location for the new regional party office project, when it comes to chippings you won’t buy chippings. I will supply it,” he assured.

Support for COKA’s Leadership

The Nhyiaeso chairman encouraged COKA to remain focused despite the challenges associated with leading the party in the Ashanti Region.

He pledged his continued support to the Regional Chairman and said he was prepared to contribute towards efforts to strengthen the party and help former Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia in his presidential ambitions.

NPP Reorganisation

The NPP is currently undertaking a reorganisation exercise following its defeat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 2024 general elections.

The party is working to rebuild its structures ahead of its presidential primaries and the 2028 general elections, with some internal party discussions referring to the presidential transition as 2029.

As part of his leadership agenda, COKA has established a temporary regional office in Kumasi and proposed the construction of a permanent Ashanti Regional party headquarters.

The proposed facility is expected to serve as a long-term administrative centre for the party and support its organisational activities across the region.
