Heavy Security Presence at Jubilee House as Gold Coast Customers Demand Payment of Locked-Up Funds

A heavy security presence has been reported at Jubilee House in Accra as aggrieved customers of the defunct Gold Coast Fund Management converge to petition the government over their outstanding locked-up funds.

The customers are demanding urgent government intervention to facilitate the payment of monies they say they have been unable to access for several years.

The group had earlier announced plans to gather at the forecourt of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church at Osu before being transported by buses to Jubilee House to present their petition to President John Dramani Mahama.

Organisers clarified that the customers would not march from Osu to the Jubilee House but would be conveyed directly to the Presidency.

According to the aggrieved customers, the petition is aimed at renewing pressure on the government to address their concerns and provide a clear roadmap for the payment of their outstanding funds.

They have also called on individuals affected by the collapse of other financial institutions to join the campaign, arguing that the financial sector crisis continues to affect thousands of Ghanaians and families.

Convener of the Aggrieved Customers of Gold Coast Fund Management, Charles Nyame, has assured that the gathering and engagement at Jubilee House will be peaceful, orderly and disciplined.

The customers are appealing to the government to expedite efforts to resolve their outstanding claims and bring relief to affected investors.

They have further urged the media, civil society organisations, religious bodies, traditional leaders and the general public to support their call for justice.

The group says it remains determined to use the petition to draw renewed attention to their plight and push for a lasting solution after years of waiting.
