President John Dramani Mahama has conducted high-level bilateral discussions with Jamaican officials during his four-day state visit to Jamaica. The aim of the visit is to bolster trade, investment, cultural ties, and South-South cooperation between the two nations.
The president was initially welcomed at King’s House in Kingston by Jamaica’s Governor-General, His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, and Her Excellency Lady Allen. The reception included a ceremonial welcome with a Guard of Honour inspection and a courtesy call at the Governor-General’s residence.
Later, President Mahama visited the Office of the Prime Minister, where Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness greeted him. After signing the guest book, the two leaders held a private meeting to discuss mutual interests and explore new avenues for bilateral collaboration. 
This was followed by formal bilateral discussions involving delegations from both countries. Topics covered included expanding trade and investment, strengthening cultural and educational exchanges, and collaborating on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The day’s activities concluded with a joint media briefing, during which President Mahama and Prime Minister Holness reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the historic relationship between Ghana and Jamaica and advancing cooperation for mutual benefit.
