Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has announced the passing of his father, George Gyan Baffour Mensah, in a moving tribute shared across social media.
The former Black Stars captain broke the news on Instagram on Friday, July 24, 2026, expressing gratitude to his father for his guidance and steadfast encouragement throughout his storied career.
“I’m happy you saw my greatness, Dad. Thank you for taking care of us. You will forever be in our hearts. R.I.P.,” Gyan posted, accompanied by broken-heart emojis.
