Bibiani to Get Its First Traffic Lights as MCE Promises Major Road Safety Improvements

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Hon. Sebastian Obeng, has assured residents that the Municipal Assembly is working tirelessly to address some of the major infrastructural challenges confronting the municipality, including poor roads, dangerous bridges and the controversial Bibiani roundabout.
Speaking during the Lawson Media Community Engagement in Bibiani, the MCE acknowledged the concerns raised by residents and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving road safety and infrastructure across the municipality.
Hon. Obeng revealed that plans are underway to repair several death-trap bridges within the municipality to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
He also announced that Bibiani is expected to receive traffic lights for the first time, a move he believes will significantly improve traffic management and reduce accidents in the township.
According to the MCE, the Assembly is also considering changes to the Bibiani roundabout, which has been heavily criticised by residents following a number of accidents. Many residents have described the roundabout as dangerous, with some claiming it has claimed lives.
Although he did not provide a specific timeline for the projects, Hon. Obeng assured residents that the planned interventions would be implemented.
The MCE further stated that the Assembly remains committed to tackling the poor road network including the California road in the municipality noting that efforts are ongoing to improve road infrastructure and enhance transportation for residents.
He called for continued cooperation and patience from the public, assuring them that the Assembly is determined to deliver lasting solutions that will improve safety and the quality of life in Bibiani.
