The National Film Authority (NFA) has expressed profound sorrow over the reported death of renowned Ghanaian actress and creative industry stakeholder, Beverly Afaglo.

In a statement, the Authority described Beverly Afaglo as a vibrant and highly respected personality in Ghana’s film and entertainment industry, whose talent, passion, and dedication significantly contributed to the promotion of Ghanaian storytelling.

According to the NFA, her remarkable work both on screen and within the broader creative arts space left a lasting impact on the growth and development of the local film industry.

The Authority noted that Beverly’s professionalism, inspiring presence, and unwavering commitment to the arts earned her admiration from colleagues, industry players, and audiences across the country.

On behalf of its Board, Management, and Staff, the National Film Authority extended heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire creative arts fraternity during this difficult moment.

The Authority further stated that Ghana’s film industry had lost one of its cherished talents and joined the nation in mourning her passing.

Beverly Afaglo reportedly passed away on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema after a two-year battle with cancer, just days before her 43rd birthday on May 28.
