Tamale Police Arrest Man Over Large Drug Seizure in Anti-Drug Operation
Suspect allegedly found with multiple Tramadol quantities during intelligence-led raid in Zujung.

Police in the Northern Region have arrested a 33-year-old man in Tamale for allegedly possessing and dealing in large quantities of illegal drugs.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Manan, was picked up on Friday, May 23, during an anti-drug operation in Zujung, a suburb of Tamale.

According to the police, the operation was conducted by the Regional Special Operations Team, known as “Red Maria,” led by Chief Inspector Abu Issahaku, following intelligence on suspected drug distribution in the area.
Officers reportedly arrested Manan, who operates an over-the-counter chemical shop, after searching both his shop and residence.
The search led to the seizure of multiple suspected narcotics, including several boxes and sachets of Tramadol in different dosages, as well as other related pharmaceutical substances.
Police confirmed that the suspect and the seized items have been handed over to the Regional Drug Law Enforcement Unit for further investigation.
Authorities say Manan is currently in custody assisting with investigations, while efforts continue to trace the source of the drugs and identify any possible accomplices.
