A 25-year-old man, Stephen Kweku Darko, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court for the defilement of a four-year-old girl at Awutu Adawukwao in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, May 9, 2026, when the convict allegedly lured the child into his room with toffee before committing the act.
After returning home, the child reportedly informed her parents about what had happened, prompting them to lodge a complaint with the police.
Police swiftly arrested the suspect following the report, leading to his prosecution and conviction.
The court subsequently handed him a 10-year custodial sentence for the offence.
