- Free breast screening for mothers
- Five lucky mothers won TV sets
- Music, dancing and exciting giveaways
It was a memorable and joyous occasion at the premises of Lawson Media as hundreds of mothers gathered to celebrate Mother’s Day in grand style through a special event organized in partnership with Breast Care International.

The colourful event, spearheaded by the Lawson Afisem team led by Maama Frimpomaa Korankye (MFK), brought together mothers from different walks of life for a day filled with love, health education, entertainment, and exciting rewards.

The atmosphere at the Lawson Media premises was full of excitement as mothers ate, drank, danced, and interacted with one another. At a point, many mothers stormed the dance floor amidst cheers and laughter as music filled the venue.
As part of activities marking the celebration, free breast screening exercises were conducted by officials from Breast Care International to help educate and examine women on breast health and early detection of breast cancer.

Speaking at the event, the Programs Manager of Lawson Media, Mr. Kwabena Ampong, commended mothers for their dedication and sacrifices towards their families and society.

“We appreciate all mothers for honouring this programme. Lawson Media values the love and support our viewers and listeners continue to show us. Today is our own way of giving back and putting smiles on the faces of mothers,” he stated.
Maama Frimpomaa Korankye (MFK) also expressed gratitude to all the mothers who attended the event and urged them to continue supporting Lawson Media programmes.

“Mothers are very special and deserve to be celebrated every day. Seeing the smiles, joy, and excitement on their faces today gives us fulfilment. We will continue organizing programmes that positively impact lives,” she said.
President of Breast Care International, Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, advised women to prioritize their health and seek proper medical attention whenever they notice unusual changes in their breasts.

“When you get breast cancer, don’t go to church for treatment; go to the hospital,” she stressed.
According to her, every woman is at risk of breast cancer and must therefore pay serious attention to regular checkups and self-examinations.

She further advised women not to focus only on caring for their families while neglecting themselves.
“When the nipple becomes flat, women should be suspicious and quickly seek medical attention because it could be a sign of breast cancer,” she cautioned.

Dr. Wiafe Addai also encouraged women to reduce excessive oil intake and avoid skin bleaching, explaining that such practices could increase health risks.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of television sets to five lucky mothers whose children recorded special appreciation videos and submitted them to the Lawson Afisem production team. The touching videos drew emotions from many patrons at the event.

In addition, the first one hundred mothers who arrived at the venue received free clothes as gifts from the organizers.
The event also received support from AFR Free Scent Roll-On, which donated roll-ons to the mothers as part of the celebration.

Some of the mothers who attended the event thanked Lawson Media for the kind gesture, describing the programme as thoughtful and impactful.
According to them, Lawson Media has consistently shown love and care to mothers and families in the community.
