- Teachers say the school has strengthened preparations using Perfect Series textbooks, past questions
- The academy aims to erase the perception that government schools lack confidence in competitions
Bosomtwe STEM Academy has sent a strong warning to competitors ahead of its third appearance in the Perfect Series Basic School Assessment Contest, declaring that this year they are determined to go all the way to the top.

Teachers and learners at the school say they are no longer aiming for the semi-final stage but are focused on lifting the ultimate trophy when the contest progresses.
“We are taking the trophy this time; we will not end at the semi-finals,” teachers of Bosomtwe STEM Academy confidently declared as preparations intensify for the upcoming stages of the academic competition.

According to the teachers, the school made an impressive run in the competition last year, reaching the semi-final stage in November. Despite performing well, they were unable to secure a place in the grand finale.
“Last year we reached the semi-final stage and although we performed well, we were unable to make it to the final due to one or two reasons. But this time around, we have intensified our preparations and put effective measures in place to help us reach the top,” they explained.
To strengthen their chances, the teachers revealed that contestants are studying extensively with Perfect Series textbooks and past questions released by the organizers. They added that as an established school, they ensure students study according to the syllabus and fully understand the concepts required for the competition.

“We challenge our learners to always prepare ahead of the contest. We have also made up our minds that every year we will participate in this competition, and because of that determination, we strongly believe that this time we are going to win,” they stated.
The Perfect Series Basic School Assessment Contest is designed to test students’ knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and academic excellence among basic school learners across Ghana.

Teachers at Bosomtwe STEM Academy also used the opportunity to address what they describe as a common misconception that government schools lack confidence when it comes to academic competitions.
According to them, the school is determined to erase that perception.
“It is not only about private schools. Government schools can also perform excellently. At Bosomtwe STEM Academy, we have confident and dedicated teachers who are always ready to expose our learners to greater opportunities,” they noted.

They added that participation in the contest has significantly boosted the confidence of their learners and provided them with valuable exposure.
More than 50 students from the school participated in the audition stage of the competition, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and determination to represent their school at higher levels.

The learners themselves have also expressed strong confidence, insisting that they are ready to outperform their competitors.

“We are going to score bigger marks and progress to the next stage. This time we are winning the contest,” some of the students boldly declared.
Meanwhile, auditions for the contest are still ongoing across the country, with the quarter-final stage for the Northern Sector scheduled to take place on March 19, 2026.

With renewed determination, Bosomtwe STEM Academy says it is fully prepared to rewrite its story in this year’s competition this time aiming not just for participation, but for victory.
