Baba Ali Yusif, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East, has outlined plans to prioritize youth empowerment, human development, and raising the profile of the constituency ahead of the March 3, 2026 by-election.
Speaking at a debate hosted by the Concerned Nima Citizens Foundation, Yusif emphasized his commitment to uplifting residents through education, skills training, and community-based initiatives.
He also highlighted the importance of promoting Ayawaso East to attract opportunities and broader recognition.
“I am proud of my community, and I want to showcase Ayawaso East to the world,” Yusif said. “Human development is my top priority. We aim to inspire our youth, provide meaningful opportunities, and ensure the community thrives socially and economically.”
In media interactions on the sidelines, Yusif expressed confidence in his ability to connect with voters. “My candidature resonates with the people. Despite historical voting trends, I believe the support I am building will help me succeed,” he noted.
A holder of a master’s degree from the Accra Business School, Yusif said his experience and youthful energy equip him to tackle Ayawaso East’s challenges, including youth unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and local development.
The Ayawaso East by-election, scheduled for March 3, 2026, will see candidates from the NPP, NDC, Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), and independents contesting for the parliamentary seat.
