Sixteen members of the Saviour Church of Ghana who tragically died in a horrific road crash on the Kumasi-Accra highway have been laid to rest in a mass burial in Obogu, Asante Akyem North Municipality.

The fatal accident occurred on Monday, July 28, around 2:30 p.m., when the victims were returning from the Church’s annual convention in the Eastern Region. Eyewitness accounts say their vehicle collided head-on with a fuel tanker traveling in the opposite direction near Atwedie.

In a deeply emotional and symbolic gesture, the grieving Obogu community and Saviour Church members came together to dig a single large grave to lay all 16 victims to rest — a solemn reflection of the unity they shared in life and death.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving families and friends devastated and the Church in mourning.
