(VIDEO) Joseph Yammin Not Involved in Galamsey; The Allegation Is Completely False – NDC Member Reuben Jabari
Reuben Jabari Defends NDC National Organizer, Says Allegations Are Baseless and Politically Motivated

- Reuben Jabari says galamsey allegations against Joseph Yamin are false
- Claims Yamin only protected legal miners during the 2024 elections.
- Urges NDC to fix internal communication and show reclaimed lands
Reuben Solomon Jabari, a respected miner, road contractor, and staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has leapt to the defense of the party’s National Organizer, Joseph Yanmin, firmly rejecting rumors linking him to illegal mining activities (galamsey).
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana’s “Ghana Se Sen” show on Friday, July 18, 2025, Jabari described the allegations as completely unfounded and misleading, insisting there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest Yamin is involved in galamsey.
“It is not true. It is settings not true. There is no iota in it,” he emphasized.
Jabari noted that every mining pit in the Ashanti Region has an identifiable owner, making it easy to verify legitimate operations.

He described Yamin’s actions during the 2024 general elections as efforts to protect genuine miners from abuse and interference, not as attempts to enrich himself.
“Yamin stopped people from disturbing miners. Does that mean he is a miner? No,” Jabari asked rhetorically.
He further expressed disappointment with the party’s leadership, criticizing the lack of post-election engagement from NDC national executives.
According to him, miners facing challenges often rely solely on Yammin and Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande, as no other party leaders respond to their concerns.
“Every miner in Ashanti, when they face issues, they call either Yamin or Mustapha Gbande. Apart from these two, nobody answers,” he revealed.
Jabari also condemned the operations of some unidentified taskforces that continue to disrupt mining sites, saying a thorough investigation would uncover opportunists taking advantage of the system for personal gain.
Despite his frustrations, Jabari made it clear that he remains committed to the NDC but insisted that internal party systems must be strengthened to support the grassroots.
“I won’t give up on the party. We have to make sure the system works.”
He concluded with a call for balanced reporting in the galamsey discourse, urging authorities and the media to highlight reclaimed lands by responsible miners — not just the environmental destruction.
“Don’t just show pictures of damaged lands. Bring out the ones that have been reclaimed too,” he urged.
