Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to lead a bold and visionary transformation to revitalize Ghana’s economy and foster national unity.
Speaking at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on Tuesday, July 1, at the State House in Accra, the respected clergyman encouraged President Mahama to seize his second opportunity in office to create lasting change.
“Mr. President, within these three years, make an impact. Shift the narrative for Ghana. Let the Cedi soar and the economy thrive under your leadership. Let this be a season of unprecedented improvement,” Duncan-Williams declared, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
He further emphasized the importance of building a values-driven national identity rooted in patriotism and faith, cautioning against political division that impedes national progress.
The Archbishop also advocated for a comprehensive, long-term development plan — akin to the 100-year visions seen in nations like China, India, and the UAE — that would transcend political transitions and unify stakeholders under a single national agenda.
“Ghana is our homeland and the focus of our vision. Under President Mahama’s leadership, we can build a unified national development plan that all must follow,” he stated.
The event, held under the theme of thanksgiving and hope, brought together political figures, clergy, and civil society to pray for peace, unity, and purposeful leadership for the nation.
