Deputy Minister-Designate for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has assured Ghanaians of her hands-on approach to leadership, promising not to be a passive or ceremonial figure in office.
Speaking during her vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee, the Jomoro MP pledged full support to the substantive Minister in driving forward a modern, safe, and efficient transport system.
“I will not be an armchair Deputy Minister,” she declared, emphasizing her commitment to active participation in policy implementation, strategic planning, and the day-to-day operations of the Ministry.
Affo-Toffey also highlighted the need for increased gender inclusion within the transport sector, pointing out the underrepresentation of women in key areas.
She expressed her intent to champion gender equity by working to place more women in technical, operational, and leadership roles across agencies under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
