GFA Releases Full Fixtures for 2025/26 Ghana Premier League Season
GFA unveils 2025/26 Ghana Premier League fixture list with big clashes, fierce regional derbies, and a timely calendar aligned with FIFA World Cup 2026 schedule. Defending champions Gold Stars open against Bechem United, while Hearts of Oak host new boys Hohoe United.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially released the full fixture list for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, generating excitement among football fans ahead of the September kickoff.
Gold Stars FC, the reigning champions, will begin their title defence at home against Bechem United at Bibiani’s Duns Park. Elsewhere on Match Day 1, Hearts of Oak will host newcomers Hohoe United in Accra, while fierce rivals Asante Kotoko travel to face Berekum Chelsea in an early test.
Former champions Medeama SC head to Sunyani to take on Young Apostles, and FC Samartex will play away at Vision FC. Newly promoted sides, Swedru All Blacks and Eleven Wonders, open their campaigns on the road against Nations FC and Basake Holy Stars, respectively.
Heart of Lions, runners-up from last season, will open at home against Dreams FC, while Karela United take on Aduana FC.
One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming season will be the first Hearts of Oak vs. Asante Kotoko encounter, set for Match Day 5 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The return leg will be played on Match Day 22 in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Fans can also look forward to the Ashanti Derby between Asante Kotoko and Nations FC, scheduled for Match Days 9 and 26, and the long-awaited Volta Derby between Hohoe United and Heart of Lions, taking place on Match Days 17 and 34.
Brong Ahafo rivalries will light up the calendar, with Young Apostles clashing with Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, and Aduana FC on Match Days 5, 7, and 16 respectively. Return legs will feature later in the season.
Several regional derbies are also in store:

Medeama SC hosts Samartex on Match Day 6, before a Western showdown with Basake Holy Stars on Match Day 15.

Samartex faces Basake Holy Stars in the Western Derby on Match Days 14 and 31.

Bechem United meets Eleven Wonders and Berekum Chelsea on Match Days 14 and 17.
The season is set to begin the weekend of September 12, 2025, and conclude on May 23/24, 2026, in line with the FIFA calendar ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As in previous seasons, matches will be played on weekends, with midweek slots reserved for outstanding games.
With Congress slated for August 12, 2025, the GFA has assured fans that the season will kick off and conclude as scheduled.
