Strengthening Media-FDA Collaboration to Enhance Public Health Awareness in Ashanti Region

- The Ashanti GJA executives, led by Kofi Adu Domfeh, visited the FDA regional office to discuss closer collaboration on public health and safety.

The Ashanti Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), led by Regional Chairman Kofi Adu Domfeh, recently visited the Ashanti Regional Office of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to explore ways to deepen collaboration in promoting public health and safety.
During the visit, FDA Regional Head Nathaniel Nana Kwabena Nkrumah commended the GJA for its ongoing support of the Authority and its leadership under CEO Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Manso Opuni. He emphasized the critical role of the media in disseminating accurate public health information and expressed eagerness to strengthen ties with the media to protect consumers from unsafe products.
Mr. Domfeh reaffirmed the GJA’s commitment to supporting the FDA’s public education initiatives. “The GJA in the Ashanti Region will continue to work with the FDA to educate and inform the public about its mandate,” he stated. He also invited the FDA team to the upcoming GJA 2025 Awards, which celebrate journalistic excellence and encourage strong institutional partnerships.
Both parties concluded the meeting optimistic about future collaborations aimed at raising public awareness and ensuring regulatory compliance across the region.
