- Thunderstorms and rainfall forecast for Accra, Kasoa, Ashanti, and other coastal and middle regions
- Early morning mist and fog may reduce visibility; northern Ghana remains dry
- Cool temperatures expected in upper regions; rough sea conditions likely
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a warning of localized thunderstorms and rainfall expected later today across Accra, Kasoa, and parts of the Ashanti Region, according to its 24-hour forecast released Thursday morning.
Areas likely to experience rainfall include Accra, Kasoa, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, and Sefwi Bekwai.
Early morning mist and fog were reported over coastal, forested, and hilly areas, reducing visibility for commuters.
GMet predicts sunny conditions by mid-morning nationwide, which will give way to unstable weather in the afternoon, with thunderstorms and rain affecting parts of the coastal belt, middle, and transition zones, continuing into the evening. Northern Ghana is expected to remain mostly dry and slightly hazy throughout the day.
The agency also noted cooler nighttime and early morning temperatures in the upper regions, while sea conditions are expected to remain rough.
