The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to cover the complete cost of the 2025 WASSCE practical examinations.
In a statement dated Saturday, July 27, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, GES emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting students and alleviating financial pressure on parents and guardians.
The released funds are meant to ensure the provision of all necessary materials and logistics for the effective conduct of practical sessions in science, technical, and vocational subjects, which are set to begin in the coming weeks.
“The release of the funds is to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that enables students to focus on their academic work, while relieving parents and guardians of any such financial burden,” the statement read.
GES has cautioned regional, district, and school authorities to strictly use the funds for their designated purpose. The Service assured that it will actively monitor disbursement and utilization to ensure transparency and prevent misuse.
“Authorities must ensure the due application of the funds to guarantee efficiency and accountability,” it added.
