Ashanti Region: Two Robbery Suspects Arrested After Dropping Phone at Crime Scene
Careless mistake leads to arrest of armed robbers who attacked resident at Kwadaso Estate.

Two suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the Suntreso District Police Command after carelessly leaving behind a critical piece of evidence—a mobile phone—at the scene of their crime.

The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Issah Abdul and 20-year-old Abdul Rahman, allegedly attacked a resident at Alignment, a community near Kwadaso Estate in the Ashanti Region. Armed with a machete and riding an unregistered blue motorbike, they made away with a handbag containing a Samsung phone worth GH¢2,000 and other valuables.

However, in an unexpected turn, one of the suspects dropped his own Samsung mobile phone during the robbery. The victim recovered the phone and promptly handed it over to the police.
This led investigators to the suspects, who were later apprehended at Sofoline. A search revealed five mobile phones and GH¢1,690 in cash. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and took officers to the location where they had hidden the machete used in the attack.
The duo is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
