Valverde Speaks Out After Real Madrid Training Ground Clash With Tchouaméni That Leaves Him Hospitalised

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has released a public statement following a training ground altercation with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni that reportedly left him with a head injury and led to a hospital visit.

The club confirmed on Thursday that disciplinary proceedings had been opened against both players after the incident during a first-team training session.

In an official statement, Real Madrid said: “Real Madrid CF announces that, following the incidents that occurred this morning during the first team’s training session, it has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni.”

The club added that updates would be provided once internal procedures are completed.

Valverde has since addressed the situation, clarifying that the incident was a misunderstanding fueled by frustration and fatigue.

“Yesterday I had an incident with a teammate during a training session. The fatigue from competition and the frustration made everything seem blown out of proportion,” he said.

He explained that a later disagreement escalated emotionally, during which he accidentally hit a table and sustained a small cut on his forehead, requiring routine hospital treatment.

“At no point did my teammate hit me; I didn’t hit him either,” Valverde clarified, adding that tensions within the squad had been heightened by a difficult season.

He further noted that while disagreements can occur in competitive dressing rooms, internal matters had unfortunately been exaggerated outside the club.
