Israeli warplanes targeted heavily populated residential areas in eastern Tehran Monday evening, following an urgent evacuation order issued by the Israeli military to Iranian civilians, according to local media reports.

Iran’s Press TV confirmed the strikes but did not provide specifics on the targets or any casualties.

Earlier in the day, Israel instructed residents in Tehran’s District 3—a zone housing government offices and foreign embassies—to evacuate immediately ahead of anticipated air raids.

“The IDF will soon conduct operations against Iranian regime military sites in this area, as it has in various parts of Tehran recently,” the military warned, emphasizing, “Staying in the area endangers your life.”

This marks the first mandatory evacuation for Tehran residents since the intense exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran last Friday—the most severe confrontation between the two nations to date.

Tensions in the region have surged after Israel launched coordinated airstrikes across several Iranian military and nuclear locations on Friday, triggering retaliatory missile strikes from Tehran.

Israeli officials report at least 24 fatalities and hundreds wounded from Iranian missile attacks since the conflict escalated, while Iranian authorities claim over 224 deaths and more than 1,000 injuries from the Israeli bombardment.
