The Ministry of Health has announced the disbursement of GHS462 million to cover six months of allowances for 120,000 nursing trainees nationwide.

According to a statement sighted on Thursday, July 17 by Lawsonmultimedia.com, the payment fulfills a key campaign promise made by President John Dramani Mahama and forms part of the government’s ongoing initiative to support students in Nursing Training Colleges.

“This milestone represents a significant boost to the morale and welfare of trainee nurses,” the Ministry stated. “It also reflects our broader efforts to strengthen the healthcare system by investing in critical human resources.”

The Ministry extended its gratitude to President Mahama for honoring his pledge, as well as to stakeholders who facilitated the swift release and distribution of the funds.
