Scattered Showers, Fog, and Storms Expected Across Ghana Today – Meteo Agency Warns

Fog, drizzle, and thunderstorms forecasted for several regions; coastal residents urged to stay alert as sea conditions worsen.

Story Highlights
  • Fog and mist to reduce visibility in forest and mountainous areas.
  • Light rain expected in coastal towns with possible afternoon sunshine
  • Isolated evening thunderstorms forecast for northern regions; rough seas warning issued.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a 24-hour forecast warning of varying weather conditions across the country today, Monday, July 28, 2025.

The day will begin with mist and fog patches, especially over forest and mountainous zones such as Koforidua, Ho, Kumasi, and Akim Oda, potentially reducing visibility. Motorists and commuters in these areas are urged to drive with caution during the morning hours.

Light rainfall or drizzles are expected in parts of the coastal and forest belt regions, including Accra, Cape Coast, and Takoradi, though these will likely clear up by midday, giving way to brief sunny conditions in most areas.

In the northern regions, towns like Wa, Bolgatanga, Tamale, and Yendi are forecast to experience isolated thunderstorms or rain showers in the evening.

GMet also cautions that the sea is expected to be rough, urging fishermen and coastal residents to exercise extra care during marine-related activities.
