Dancehall star Shatta Wale has filed a GHS 100 million defamation lawsuit against media personality Blakk Rasta over a video accusing him of being the “self-confessed king of fraud.” The musician claims the video has harmed his reputation and caused him significant distress.

The lawsuit, filed on January 8, 2026, by Shatta Wale’s lawyers at the Robert Smith Law Group, targets a video posted on Blakk Empire Media on December 15, 2025. In the video, Blakk Rasta allegedly claimed Shatta Wale associates with fraudsters and allows stolen money to pass through his accounts. One statement reportedly said: “He knows all the fraud boys in Ghana and outside Ghana… the friend of a thief is also a thief.”

Shatta Wale’s team argues the claims are false, malicious, and intended to ridicule the award-winning artist. They note the video went viral, receiving over 150,000 views on Facebook and 27,000 on YouTube within 24 hours.

The lawsuit seeks a declaration that the statements are defamatory, an order to delete the video, an injunction against further publications, and a full-page apology in major Ghanaian newspapers. The claim adds that the video has caused anxiety among Shatta Wale’s family, fans, and business partners.

Blakk Rasta has not yet responded publicly, and the court will determine the next steps.
