The maiden edition of the Lawson Media Inter-Community Football Gala is heating up as eight communities prepare for the highly anticipated quarter-final clashes today at the Cocoa Ase Astro Turf in Bantama.
The tournament, which began with 24 teams, now narrows the field as the remaining sides chase a share of the GHS 100,000 prize package.

Communities advancing to the quarter-finals include Ejisu, Atonsu, Tech, Nkwantakese, Pakyi, Asawase, Moshie Zongo, and Abuakwa, all eager to assert their dominance and secure a place in the semi-finals. The quarter-final stage promises a mix of high-octane football, tactical battles, and moments of individual brilliance.

The path to the knockout stage was anything but easy. Day Five of the gala saw several upsets and eliminations, with Suame, Atasomanso, Adiebeba, and Patasi bowing out after spirited group-stage campaigns. Notable results included Nkwantakese’s 2–0 triumph over Atonsu, Ejisu’s 2–1 win over Tech, and a thrilling 2–2 draw between Pakyi and Moshie Zongo.
