Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, has called on Ghanaians to express gratitude to God for the signs of national progress witnessed over the past year.
Speaking at a Non-Denominational Thanksgiving Service held at the Flagstaff House forecourt on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, Rev. Wengam emphasized that thanksgiving is crucial for sustaining development and fostering continued national growth.
The service, held under the theme “The Impact of Gratitude to God and Its Influence on Development,” highlighted achievements such as economic stabilization and the strengthening of the Ghanaian currency.
“We have all seen progress over the past year. Our economy is stabilizing, and the cedi is performing well,” Rev. Wengam said. He added that Ghana’s improvements have drawn praise internationally, noting that friends abroad have commended the nation’s leadership for the transformations seen.
Rev. Wengam stressed that expressing gratitude to God encourages unity, humility, and a shared commitment to sustaining development in the country.
The Thanksgiving Service brought together religious leaders, government officials, and members of the public to reflect on the past year’s achievements and seek divine guidance for the year ahead.
