The family of Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, the late former First Lady of Ghana, has arrived at the Information Services Department (ISD) in Accra to announce details of her forthcoming funeral rites.
The media briefing will provide information on the official programme, locations, dates, and related events to honour the life and legacy of the late stateswoman.
Nana Konadu, who passed on 23 October 2025, will be given a state funeral, confirmed by President John Dramani Mahama. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 28 November 2025, at Independence Square, Accra.
As the founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and First Lady from 1981 to 2001, Nana Konadu was celebrated for her advocacy for women’s rights and her influential role in Ghana’s political history. Her death sparked widespread tributes from leaders and citizens across the country.
The Rawlings family is expected to use the ISD session to clarify the full funeral arrangements and guide the public on how they may participate in the memorial activities.
