President Mahama Swears in New Chiefs for Fire and Immigration Services

Daniella Ntow Sarpong becomes first female Chief Fire Officer; Samuel Amadu assumes role as Immigration Comptroller-General

President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as the substantive Chief Fire Officer and Samuel Basintale Amadu as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The ceremony, held at the Presidency, formally ushered the two officials into their leadership roles at the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service.

As Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong will oversee fire prevention, public safety education, and emergency response operations across the country.

Samuel Basintale Amadu, in his role as Comptroller-General, will be responsible for border management, migration control, and enforcing Ghana’s immigration laws.

President Mahama urged both officials to perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and dedication to national service.

Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, appointed on March 24, 2025, became the first woman to serve as Chief Fire Officer. She previously held the positions of Deputy Chief Fire Officer and Director of Fire Safety, where she earned recognition for her leadership and commitment.

Samuel Basintale Amadu was also appointed in March 2025 and now formally assumes his role leading the Ghana Immigration Service.
