The forecourt of Lawson Media was transformed into a centre of joy, colour and gratitude as Maame Frimpomaa Korankye, popularly known as MFK, host of the widely followed Lawson Afisem Show, donated fabric to over 1,000 widows in a remarkable New Year outreach.

The well-attended event, which came shortly after the widows had participated in 31st December Watch Night services, was marked by a live band performance, spontaneous dancing and an atmosphere of celebration.

The widows, many clad in smiles, danced freely as music filled the air, turning what could have been a solemn gathering into a vibrant festival of hope.

MFK herself joined the widows on the dance floor, showcasing her energetic dance moves and further lifting the mood.

Her presence among them added colour and warmth to the occasion, drawing cheers and admiration from participants.

All widows who had registered their names received the donated fabric—numbering over 1,000 pieces—along with refreshments, and left the Lawson Media premises visibly happy and fulfilled.

Gratitude and Commitment

Speaking in an interview, MFK expressed deep appreciation to Mrs Rebecca Kyei Manu for her massive support, which she said was instrumental in ensuring the programme’s success.

She appealed to the widows to continue watching and supporting the Lawson Afisem Show, revealing that this year will see many more giveaways on the programme.

MFK said she was overwhelmed by the huge turnout, especially considering the fact that the widows had attended Watch Night services just hours earlier.

Using the occasion to inspire them, she advised the widows not to define themselves by widowhood, urging them to be proactive and engage in meaningful activities to support themselves and their families.

“There are many opportunities and goodies out there. Don’t be lazy—do something with your hands,” she encouraged.

Lawson Media’s Endorsement

Lawyer Francis Opoku, Legal Director of Lawson Media, speaking on behalf of Dr Lawson Kyei Manu and his wife, Mrs Rebecca Kyei Manu, wished the widows a Happy New Year and thanked them for coming to receive the fabrics.

He commended MFK and her team for the great work they are doing, noting that the Lawson Afisem Show has become a household name.

According to him, Dr Lawson Kyei Manu and his wife are in full support of MFK, and encouraged her and her team never to give up.

Prayers and Blessings

Also addressing the gathering, Mr Isaac Antwi, General Manager of Lawson Media, expressed happiness at the massive turnout and the joyful spirit displayed by the widows.

He prayed for God’s blessings upon them and urged the widows to continue praying for Dr Lawson Kyei Manu and his wife, so they can sustain and expand the annual support.

The event ended on a high note, reinforcing the Lawson Afisem Show’s reputation not just as an entertainment programme, but as a platform of compassion, empowerment and social impact.
