Former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, has thrown his support behind Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) in the race for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairmanship.
Speaking on Fox FM on Wednesday morning, Joe Wise described COKA as an experienced grassroots leader with a deep understanding of the party’s structures and challenges in the Ashanti Region.

According to him, the NPP requires a unifying figure capable of rebuilding the party and strengthening its base ahead of the 2028 general elections. He noted that COKA’s long service to the party and his relationship with party faithful across the region make him a strong candidate for the position.

Joe Wise reportedly praised COKA’s commitment to party development and his consistent support for grassroots mobilization over the years.
He urged delegates to carefully consider the qualities needed to lead the party in the Ashanti Region and expressed confidence that COKA possesses the leadership, dedication and experience required to unite members and drive the party forward.
COKA, a former NPP Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South, is among the leading contenders seeking to succeed the current regional leadership when the party goes to the polls later this year.
The endorsement is expected to add momentum to COKA’s campaign as the race for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship gathers pace.
