Popular Ray Emodi has announced his decision to step away from acting to focus on a career in music, citing ongoing struggles with anxiety and concerns for his mental health.
In an Instagram video shared on Tuesday, Emodi stated, “I have stopped acting in films. I quit,” explaining that the pressures of the Nollywood industry and personal well-being made the decision necessary.
Reflecting on his experiences, the actor revealed some of the dangers he faced on set. “I shot a film in a town that I won’t mention, but we were literally hearing gunshots… and we were still shooting,” he said, underscoring the risks sometimes involved in film production.
Emodi noted that his decision has not been fully supported by his family. “This is a decision that has come with a lot of consequences. My family does not support this… I respect their decision, and I won’t do anything that would bring any stain to the name,” he added.
Despite leaving acting, he reassured fans that he is not leaving the spotlight. “I love music. I have always loved music… I want you guys to come with me on this journey,” Emodi said, inviting supporters to follow his transition into music.
