A motorcyclist, known as Mathew, is in critical condition after a serious collision with a private car (GN 1754-18) at Monaco Junction, Atonsu, in Kumasi. The accident occurred amid a police chase that reportedly began in Kaase.
Eyewitnesses at the scene described a tense sequence in which Mathew attempted to evade a police patrol car (GP 3764), ultimately losing control and colliding with the oncoming vehicle.
Residents rushed to the scene to assist him, and he was immediately transported to Kumasi South Hospital.
Hospital sources confirmed that Mathew sustained severe head injuries and remains in critical care. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, including the circumstances leading up to the police pursuit, and the police have appealed for calm as they conduct their inquiries.
