No NDC Appointee Can Criticize ORAL; Their Actions Are Worse – Miracles Aboagye
NPP communicator criticizes NDC over ORAL, stresses legal process must guide investigations.
- Aboagye says NDC appointees cannot criticize ORAL.
- Warns that cost alone is not grounds for prosecution.
- Stresses investigations must follow rule of law and due process.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sharply criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over its stance on the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.
Mr. Aboagye argued that the NDC’s interpretation of ORAL could end up implicating its own appointees. He insisted that cost alone cannot justify prosecution and accused the party of misrepresenting issues to its supporters.
He stressed that Ghana operates under the rule of law, not arbitrary decisions, and that all investigations and prosecutions must follow proper legal procedures, with the Attorney-General acting strictly within the law.
“The appointees from the NDC have been implicated by ORAL based on their own definitions. Some of their claims are quite senseless, such as arguing that the new Bank of Ghana building is expensive, which they use as a reason for prosecution. How can one claim that a building’s cost justifies legal action?
“They continuously misinterpret information for their followers. This country is not a jungle; it is governed by the rule of law. The Attorney-General will perform his duties as required, and all actions must go through proper legal processes,” he added.
