National Service Authority Promises to Pay all Outstanding Allowances by Week’s End
NSA assures service personnel that all verified allowances will be cleared by week’s end after technical verification delays.

- NSA attributes delayed payments to verification by Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited.
- Funds sufficient for two months of allowances are ready; all verified arrears to be paid by end of week.
- Authority pledges ongoing updates and recognizes the patience and service of affected personnel.
The National Service Authority (NSA) has reassured thousands of service personnel that all pending allowances will be cleared by the close of this week, citing an ongoing verification process as the cause of recent delays. The Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS) is completing necessary checks to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before disbursement.
In a statement issued on February 17, 2026, Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh emphasized the importance of these allowances in supporting young Ghanaians during their mandatory service year. “Management of the National Service Authority wishes to assure all National Service Personnel and stakeholders that concrete steps are being taken to expedite the payment of outstanding allowances owed to legitimate Service Personnel,” the statement read.
The Authority clarified that funds sufficient to cover two months of allowances had been advanced by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department last week, but the payment process was temporarily stalled due to verification requirements. “The delay stems from an ongoing verification process by GhIPSS, which must be completed to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are effected,” the statement explained.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by service personnel, the NSA expressed appreciation for their patience and dedication. “We acknowledge the patience, resilience demonstrated by Service Personnel during this period, and your service to the nation remains deeply valued and appreciated,” it stated.
The NSA provided a concrete deadline for payments, promising that all verified arrears will be settled by the end of this week. Officials also pledged to keep personnel updated through official communication channels until the process is complete.
This assurance comes as relief to thousands of national service personnel nationwide who have been struggling with the financial strain of delayed stipends, a critical source of support during their year of mandatory national service.
