The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported that the blaze was first noticed at 00:02 hrs, with the Dansoman Fire Station crew arriving within two minutes. Firefighters found the fire already at an advanced stage, rapidly spreading across the market.
To contain the inferno, eight fire engines from various stations—including Industrial Area, Ministries, National Headquarters, Madina, Weija, Anyaa, and Accra City—were deployed, along with two private water tankers provided by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
The fire was confined by 01:51 hrs, brought under control at 03:03 hrs, and fully extinguished by 05:21 hrs after overhauling operations to eliminate hidden flames.
