A group of Minority Members of Parliament staged a march to the Police Headquarters on Wednesday, June 4, to present a petition to the Inspector General of Police regarding the prolonged delay in announcing the parliamentary election results for the Ablekuma North constituency, following the 2024 General Elections.

Speaking to the media, Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh urged the police to ensure the safety of Electoral Commission (EC) officials to facilitate the prompt release of the results.

He emphasized that the continued delay in declaring a Member of Parliament for the constituency undermines a fundamental constitutional right.

“The lack of a duly declared MP for Ablekuma North is a blatant infringement on the constitutional right to representation, as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution,” he stated.
