13th Adua for Late Vice President Aliu Mahama Scheduled for November 16

The family of the late former Vice President of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, will on Sunday, November 16, 2025, host the 13th Commemorative Adua in his honour at No. 4 Switchback Road, Cantonments, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The solemn Islamic prayer gathering will unite family members, political leaders, friends, and the Muslim community to reflect on the life and legacy of the late statesman, renowned for his humility, discipline, and commitment to national unity.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, will grace the occasion as Special Guest, leading prayers and delivering a sermon on peace, faith, and reflection. Several dignitaries from both government and opposition, as well as traditional leaders, are expected to attend, highlighting Alhaji Mahama’s cross-party respect and influence.

The Adua will celebrate his enduring legacy as a man who championed discipline, youth empowerment, and patriotism during his tenure as Vice President from 2001 to 2009 under former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Until his passing in November 2012, Alhaji Aliu Mahama remained a national figure of integrity and service, deeply admired for his advocacy for unity and moral leadership.
