President John Dramani Mahama has urged government appointees to exercise their authority with humility, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility, reminding them that leadership is temporary and must be treated as a trust on behalf of the people.

Delivering the message at his First Anniversary Non-Denominational Thanksgiving Service at the Jubilee House forecourt on Wednesday, January 7, the President said thanksgiving should go beyond words and inspire renewed commitment to ethical governance, national unity, and service to the vulnerable.

“The year ahead will test our resolve, patience, and discipline, even as it offers opportunities to deepen reforms, accelerate growth, and ensure progress reaches all corners of our country,” he said.

President Mahama stressed that leadership is stewardship, calling on appointees to recommit to selfless service for the common good of Ghanaians. “Let us move forward with humility, lead with empathy, and govern with courage. Leadership is temporary and fleeting. Authority is a trust held on behalf of the people,” he added.
