Mahama’s Verified X Account Hacked – Promotes Fake Crypto Scheme
CSA Collaborates with X to Address Breach and Prevent Future Attacks
The verified X account of President John Dramani Mahama has been hacked, according to a statement from the Cyber Security Authority (CSA).
The breach was detected on Monday, March 17, when the compromised account began sharing suspicious cryptocurrency-related content. Alarmed citizens have raised concerns about the security of high-profile political accounts.
The CSA assured the public that it is collaborating with X and other stakeholders to address the issue and strengthen preventive measures.
The unauthorized posts promoted a fraudulent cryptocurrency project called “Solanafrica,” falsely claiming ties to the Solana blockchain while promising seamless, cost-free payments across Africa.
