The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, alongside senior military officials, paid a condolence visit on Thursday morning to the family of Private Sarfo Agyapong, a NAIMOS officer who tragically lost his life in an accident while en route to Obuasi.

The incident occurred late Wednesday as the team was returning from an operation at a concession in Anyankyerim that had been illegally occupied by miners.

During the visit to the family home in Afuaman, Greater Accra Region, Lands Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah offered condolences and assured the family of government support. He described Private Agyapong as a national hero who died in the line of duty to protect Ghana’s forests and water resources.

Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, also reassured the family that the military would observe all protocols and provide full military honours during the officer’s burial. He emphasized that the Ghana Armed Forces would ensure proper arrangements in accordance with military ethics.
