Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has surprised fans by naming Mohammed Kudus of Tottenham Hotspur as his favourite African player currently playing in the English Premier League.
In an interview with SportyTV, Drogba admitted that although it might sound unusual for a Chelsea icon to praise a Spurs player, he has been deeply impressed by Kudus’ skill, confidence, and impact since joining the North London club.
“I like Kudus. I used to like Jackson because I see a lot of similarities between his debut at Chelsea and my early days — it was a difficult period for him,” Drogba explained.
He also paid tribute to his long-time friend and fellow African great, saying, “And of course, I can’t forget my brother, Mohamed Salah. King Salah, I love you.”
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo has also earned plaudits for his exceptional form at Bournemouth, with several Premier League giants — including Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United — reportedly eyeing him for a potential transfer move in January.
