Police Nab Land Guards, 12 Impersonators Over Illegal House Demolitions in Gomoa East

The Gomoa Ojobi District Police Command has apprehended two notorious land guards and 12 individuals impersonating National Security officers following the destruction of more than 20 houses at Gomoa Akotsi in the Central Region’s Gomoa East District.

District Police Commander, DSP Asante, revealed that over 60 houses under construction have been targeted in a series of nighttime demolitions carried out by the suspects.

Residents said that the attackers, led by Ekow Egyir, stormed the area dressed in National Security uniforms, armed with guns and handcuffs, and began tearing down buildings without any legal authority.

One of the victims rushed to the Gomoa Ojobi Police Command, which led to the swift arrest of all 14 suspects. They are currently in custody at Gomoa Ojobi and Millennium City Police Command for further investigations.

Local traditional leaders (Nananom) have urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to ensure that the arrested land guards face prosecution and imprisonment to serve as a warning against similar acts in the future.
