The Ghana Police Service has firmly debunked viral reports claiming that Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has died.

In an official statement issued on Sunday, November 30, and shared via X, the Police described the circulating claims as entirely false and misleading.

According to the Service, the IGP is very much alive, in good health, and actively performing his official duties. The Police urged members of the public, officers of the Service, and the IGP’s family to disregard the malicious rumours.

The statement further condemned the individuals spreading the falsehood, labeling their actions as reckless and malicious, and warned that the deliberate spread of disinformation is a criminal offense.

The Police assured that anyone found responsible for propagating the fake news will be dealt with according to law.
